And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.


In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Ba´asha the son of Ahi´jah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.


Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jerobo´am, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;


Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
