18 And they arose out of Mid´i-an, and came to Paran: and they took men with them out of Paran, and they came to Egypt, unto Pharaoh king of Egypt; which gave him a house, and appointed him victuals, and gave him land.

and the Horites in their mount Se´ir, unto El–pa´ran, which is by the wilderness.


And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.


And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Mid´i-an, and Ishbak, and Shu´ah.


And the sons of Mid´i-an; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abi´dah, and Elda´ah. All these were the children of Ketu´rah.


that Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child.


And Hadad found great favor in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tah´penes the queen.


Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Mid´i-an: and he sat down by a well.


God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.


And the children of Israel took their journeys out of the wilderness of Si´nai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.


And Moab said unto the elders of Mid´i-an, Now shall this company lick up all that are round about us, as the ox licketh up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time.


Now the name of the Israelite that was slain, even that was slain with the Mid´i-anitish woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a chief house among the Simeonites.


for they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Pe´or, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Mid´i-an, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Pe´or's sake.


And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Mid´i-anitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.


These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Haze´roth, and Diza´hab.


And he said, The Lord came from Si´nai, and rose up from Se´ir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.
