And the Lord said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jerobo´am the son of Jo´ash.


And the captain of the guard took Serai´ah the chief priest, and Zephani´ah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:


and the king of Babylon smote them, and slew them at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away out of their land.


And Azari´ah begat Serai´ah, and Serai´ah begat Jehoz´adak,


The sons of Levi; Gershom, Kohath, and Mera´ri.


Then rose up Zerub´babel the son of She-al´ti-el, and Jesh´u-a the son of Joz´adak, and began to build the house of God which is at Jerusalem: and with them were the prophets of God helping them.


And he said, O my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.


Then Neb´uzar–a´dan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.


This is the people whom Nebuchadrez´zar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:


In the second year of Dari´us the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the Lord by Hag´gai the prophet unto Zerub´babel the son of She-al´ti-el, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jos´edech, the high priest, saying,


Then Zerub´babel the son of She-al´ti-el, and Joshua the son of Jos´edech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Hag´gai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the Lord.


And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerub´babel the son of She-al´ti-el, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jos´edech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,


Speak now to Zerub´babel the son of She-al´ti-el, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jos´edech, the high priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,


And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.


For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,
