[A Psalm of David when he fled from Absalom his son.] LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.


[A Psalm of David.] Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.


My enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?


He shall reward evil unto my enemies: cut them off in your truth.


He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.


I will be glad and rejoice in you: I will sing praise to your name, O most High.


He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.


[A Psalm or Song for the Sabbath day.] It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto your name, O most High:


But you, LORD, are most high forevermore.


The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.


For thus says the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.


O king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honor:


With what shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?


For they are the spirits of demons, working miracles, who go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
