Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate beforehand what you shall answer:


Men, brethren, and fathers, hear you my defense which I make now unto you.


Then Agrippa said unto Paul, You are permitted to speak for yourself. Then Paul stretched forth his hand, and answered for himself:


And as he thus spoke for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, you are beside yourself; much learning does make you mad.


But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,


What then? only that, every way, whether in pretense, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.


Even as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; since as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of my grace.


Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves.


To this I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.


In which I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.


At my first defense no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.
