And the afflicted people you will save: but your eyes are upon the haughty, that you may bring them down.


Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the robes and the horse, as you have said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sits at the king's gate: let nothing fail of all that you have spoken.


When men are cast down, then you shall say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.


Though the LORD be high, yet has he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knows from afar.


For you will save the humble people; but will bring down haughty looks.


The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility.


Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honor is humility.


It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search out their own glory is not glory.


A man's pride shall bring him low: but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.


The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.


And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.


For thus says the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.


And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.


He has showed strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.


He has put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.


Then said he also to him that bade him, When you give a dinner or a supper, call not your friends, nor your brethren, neither your kinsmen, nor your rich neighbors; lest they also bid you again, and a recompense be made you.


I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for everyone that exalts himself shall be abased; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted.


Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:


Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.


But he gives more grace. Therefore he says, God resists the proud, but gives grace unto the humble.


Likewise, you younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble.


Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:


And Samuel said, When you were little in your own sight, were you not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed you king over Israel?
