Since there are many things that increase vanity, how is man the better?


And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.


Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.


But Martha was cumbered about with much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.


And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat; neither for the body, what you shall put on.


And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be weighed down with carousing, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.


And that which fell among thorns are they, who, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.


Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.


Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.


There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.


Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
