And the king said, And where is your master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abides at Jerusalem: for he said, Today shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.


And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, there came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed continually as he came.


And he has slandered your servant unto my lord the king; but my lord the king is as an angel of God: do therefore what is good in your eyes.


Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold your servant!


Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said unto him, I have given unto your master’s son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.


And you shall take no bribe: for the bribe blinds the wise, and perverts the words of the righteous.


He that answers a matter before he hears it, it is folly and shame unto him.


He that speaks first in his own cause seems just; until his neighbor comes and examines him.


Also, that the soul be without knowledge is not good; and he that hastens with his feet sins.


One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sins: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
