Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, all that belonged unto Mephibosheth are yours. And Ziba said, I humbly beseech you that I may find grace in your sight, my lord, O king.


Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him will I cut off: he that has a haughty look and a proud heart will I not endure.


He that backbites not with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbor.


Lover and friend have you put far from me, and my acquaintance into darkness.


You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.


So are the ways of everyone that is greedy of gain; which takes away the life of its owners.


A false witness shall perish: but the man that hears speaks constantly.


Trust not in a friend, put not confidence in a companion: keep the doors of your mouth from her that lies in your bosom.


Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.
