Numbers 13:23 - Holy Bible: Easy-to-Read Version

23 Then the men went to Eshcol Valley. There they cut off a branch from a grapevine that had a bunch of grapes on it. They put that branch on a pole, and two men carried it between them. They also carried some pomegranates and figs.

One of the men who had escaped went to Abram the Hebrew and told him what happened. Abram was camped near the trees of Mamre the Amorite. Mamre, Eshcol, and Aner had made an agreement to help each other, and they had also signed an agreement to help Abram.


That place is called the Eshcol Valley, because there the men of Israel cut off the bunch of grapes.


These men went as far as Eshcol Valley. They saw the land, and they discouraged the Israelites. These men made the Israelites not want to go into the land that the Lord had given to them.


It is a land with wheat and barley, grapevines, fig trees, and pomegranates. It is a land with olive oil and honey.


Later, Samson fell in love with a woman named Delilah, who was from Sorek Valley.
