He was treated badly, but he never protested. He said nothing, like a lamb being led away to be killed. He was like a sheep that makes no sound as its wool is being cut off. He never opened his mouth to defend himself.


But Jesus said nothing. Again the high priest said to Jesus, “You are now under oath. I command you by the power of the living God to tell us the truth. Tell us, are you the Messiah, the Son of God?”


So Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear all these charges they are making against you? Why don’t you answer?”


But Jesus did not say anything, and this really surprised the governor.


He asked him many questions, but Jesus said nothing.


The part of the Scriptures that he was reading was this: “He was like a sheep being led to the butcher. He was like a lamb that makes no sound as its wool is being cut off. He said nothing.


People insulted him, but he did not insult them back. He suffered, but he did not threaten anyone. No, he let God take care of him. God is the one who judges rightly.
