3 Jesus got into the boat that belonged to Simon. He asked Simon to push off a little from the shore. Then he sat down in the boat and taught the people on the shore.

As Jesus was walking by Lake Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (called Peter) and Simon’s brother Andrew. These brothers were fishermen, and they were fishing in the lake with a net.


He had healed many of them, so all the sick people were pushing toward him to touch him.


Jesus saw how many people there were, so he told his followers to get a small boat and make it ready for him. He wanted the boat so that the crowds of people could not push against him.


Jesus saw two boats at the shore of the lake. The fishermen were washing their nets.


Early in the morning he went back to the Temple area. The people all came to him, and he sat and taught them.
