The name of that place was Luz, but Jacob named it Bethel.


The descendants of the family of Benjamin from Geba lived in Micmash, Aija, Bethel, and the small towns around it,


Then they chased the enemy down the road from Beth Horon to Azekah. While they were chasing the enemy, the Lord caused large hailstones to fall from the sky. Many of the enemy were killed by these large hailstones. More men were killed by the hailstones than by the swords of the soldiers of Israel.


This is the land that was given to the people of Ephraim: Their eastern border started at Ataroth Addar near Upper Beth Horon.


At the hill south of Beth Horon, the border turned south and went along the west side of the hill. The border went to Kiriath Baal (also called Kiriath Jearim). This town belonged to the people of Judah. This was the western border.


Kibzaim, and Beth Horon. In all, Ephraim gave them four towns and some land around each town for their animals.


The second group went southeast on the road to Beth Horon, and the third group went east on the road to the border. That road looks over the Valley of Zeboim toward the desert.
