Look to Avraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for when he was but one I called him, and I blessed him, and made him many.


Don't think to yourselves, 'We have Avraham for our father,' for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Avraham from these stones.


Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and don't begin to say among yourselves, 'We have Avraham for our father;' for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Avraham from these stones!


They answered him, *We are Avraham's seed, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How do you say, 'You will be made free?'*


Are you greater than our father, Avraham, who died? The prophets died. Who do you make yourself out to be?*


Your father Avraham rejoiced to see my day. He saw it, and was glad.*


Brothers, children of the stock of Avraham, and those among you who fear God, the word of this salvation is sent out to you.


concerning his Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,


But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what will we say? Is God unrighteous who inflicts wrath? I speak like men do.


For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace, to the end that the promise may be sure to all the seed, not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Avraham, who is the father of us all.


What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?


What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn't have known sin, except through the law. For I wouldn't have known coveting, unless the law had said, *You shall not covet.*


What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?


Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Yisra'eli's? So am I. Are they the seed of Avraham? So am I.


Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?
