David said to Shlomo his son, As for me, it was in my heart to build a house to the name of the LORD my God.


In the thought of him who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune. It is ready for them whose foot slips.


As for me, is my complaint to man? Why shouldn't I be impatient?


For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.


As for me, I shall see your face in righteousness. I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with seeing your form.


My steps have held fast to your paths. My feet have not slipped.


But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth. I afflicted my soul with fasting. My prayer returned into my own bosom.


For I said, *Don't let them gloat over me, or exalt themselves over me when my foot slips.*


But as for me, in the abundance of your loving kindness I will come into your house. I will bow toward your holy temple in reverence of you.


When I said, *My foot is slipping!* Your loving kindness, LORD, held me up.


I have come to the brink of utter ruin, in the midst of the gathered assembly.*


If it seem evil to you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amori, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.


Moreover as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will instruct you in the good and the right way.


He will keep the feet of his holy ones, but the wicked shall be put to silence in darkness; for no man shall prevail by strength.
