The king turned his face about, and blessed all the assembly of Yisra'el: and all the assembly of Yisra'el stood.


Chizkiyahu spoke comfortably to all the Levites who had good understanding [in the service] of the LORD. So they ate throughout the feast for the seven days, offering sacrifices of shalom offerings, and making confession to the LORD, the God of their fathers.


He said to the Levites who taught all Yisra'el, who were holy to the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Shlomo the son of David king of Yisra'el did build; there shall no more be a burden on your shoulders: now serve the LORD your God, and his people Yisra'el.


According to the good hand of our God on us they brought us a man of discretion, of the sons of Machli, the son of Levi, the son of Yisra'el; and Sherevyah, with his sons and his brothers, eighteen;


and Shabbetai and Yozavad, of the chiefs of the Levites, who had the oversight of the outward business of the house of God;


Moreover the porters, `Akkuv, Talmon, and their brothers, who kept watch at the gates, were one hundred seventy-two.


and `Azaryah, Ezra, and Meshullam,


After him repaired the Levites, Rechum the son of Bani. Next to him repaired Chashavyah, the ruler of half the district of Ke`ilah, for his district.


Next to him repaired Etzer the son of Yeshua, the ruler of Mitzpah, another portion, over against the ascent to the armory at the turning [of the wall].


After them repaired Binyamin and Chashuv over against their house. After them repaired `Azaryah the son of Ma`aseyah the son of `Ananyah beside his own house.


All the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared to them.


Ezra the scribe stood on a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattityah, and Shema, and `Anayah, and Uriyah, and Chilkiyah, and Ma`aseyah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedayahu, and Misha'el, and Malkiyah, and Chashum, and Chashbaddanah, Zekharyah, [and] Meshullam.


and Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. All the people answered, Amein, Amein, with the lifting up of their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.


They read in the book, in the law of God, distinctly; and they gave the sense, so that they understood the reading.


They stood up in their place, and read in the scroll of the Torah of the LORD their God a fourth part of the day; and [another] fourth part they confessed, and worshiped the LORD their God.


Then stood up on the stairs of the Levites, Yeshua, and Bani, Kadmi'el, Shevanyah, Bunni, Sherevyah, Bani, [and] Kenani, and cried with a loud voice to the LORD their God.


and that you are to teach the children of Yisra'el all the statutes which the LORD has spoken to them by Moshe.*


For the Kohen's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth; for he is the messenger of the LORD of Armies.


They shall teach Ya`akov your ordinances, and Yisra'el your law. They shall put incense before you, and whole burnt offering on your altar.
