The border of the Kena`anim was from Tzidon, as you go toward Gerar, to `Aza; as you go toward Sedom, `Amorah, Admah, and Tzevoyim, to Lasha.


In Giv`on the LORD appeared to Shlomo in a dream by night; and God said, Ask what I shall give you.


Ashkelon will see it, and fear; `Aza also, and will writhe in agony; as will `Ekron, for her expectation will be disappointed; and the king will perish from `Aza, and Ashkelon will not be inhabited.


They went and came to Moshe, and to Aharon, and to all the congregation of the children of Yisra'el, to the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word to them, and to all the congregation, and shown them the fruit of the land.


Thus did your fathers, when I sent them from Kadesh-Barnea to see the land.


and your border shall turn about southward of the ascent of `Akrabbim, and pass along to Tzin; and the goings out of it shall be southward of Kadesh-Barnea; and it shall go forth to Chatzar-Addar, and pass along to `Atzmon;

Then spoke Yehoshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amori before the children of Yisra'el; and he said in the sight of Yisra'el, Sun, stand you still on Giv`on; You, Moon, in the valley of Ayalon.


that they feared greatly, because Giv`on was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than `Ai, and all the men of it were mighty.


So Yehoshua took all that land, the hill country, and all the South, and all the land of Goshen, and the lowland, and the `Aravah, and the hill country of Yisra'el, and the lowland of the same;


There was none of the `Anakim left in the land of the children of Yisra'el: only in `Aza, in Gat, and in Ashdod, did some remain.


and Goshen, and Cholon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages.


Shimshon went to `Aza, and saw there a prostitute, and went in to her.


The Pelishtim laid hold on him, and put out his eyes; and they brought him down to `Aza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he ground at the mill in the prison.


These are the golden tumors which the Pelishtim returned for a trespass offering to the LORD: for Ashdod one, for `Aza one, for Ashkelon one, for Gat one, for `Ekron one;
