Out of that land he went forth into Ashur, and built Nineveh, Rechovot-Ir, Kelach,


So Sancheriv king of Ashur departed, and went and returned, and lived at Nineveh.


But a prophet of the LORD was there, whose name was `Oded: and he went out to meet the army that came to Shomron, and said to them, Behold, because the LORD, the God of your fathers, was angry with Yehudah, he has delivered them into your hand, and you have slain them in a rage which has reached up to heaven.


and I said, my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to you, my God; for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our guiltiness is grown up to the heavens.


So Sancheriv king of Ashur departed, went away, returned to Nineveh, and stayed there.


Cry aloud, don't spare, lift up your voice like a shofar, and declare to my people their disobedience, and to the house of Ya`akov their sins.


If I say, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name, then there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with forbearing, and I can't [contain].


You shall speak my words to them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear; for they are most rebellious.


They don't consider in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness. Now their own deeds have engulfed them. They are before my face.

So Yonah arose, and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, three days' journey across.
