The man said, *The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.*


When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit of it, and ate; and she gave some to her husband with her, and he ate.


For it happened, when Shlomo was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.


While he was yet talking with them, behold, the messenger came down to him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of the LORD; why should I wait for the LORD any longer?


But put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will renounce you to your face.*


But he said to her, *You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?* In all this Iyov didn't sin with his lips.


The LORD said to Hasatan, *Have you considered my servant Iyov? For there is none like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil. He still maintains his integrity, although you incited me against him, to ruin him without cause.*


But put forth your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will renounce you to your face.*
