The Midyanim sold him into Egypt to Potifar, an officer of Par`oh's, the captain of the guard.


Of your sons who shall issue from you, whom you shall father, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Bavel.


The residue of the people who were left in the city, and those who fell away, who fell to the king of Bavel, and the residue of the multitude, did Nevuzar'adan 1 the captain of the guard carry away captive.


Nevuzar'adan 1 the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Bavel to Rivlah.


Therefore my people go into captivity for lack of knowledge. Their honorable men are famished, and their multitudes are parched with thirst.


For thus says the LORD, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this time, and will distress them, that they may feel [it].


therefore will I cast you forth out of this land into the land that you have not known, neither you nor your fathers; and there shall you serve other gods day and night; for I will show you no favor.


As the bad figs, which can't be eaten, they are so bad, surely thus says the LORD, So will I give up Tzidkiyahu the king of Yehudah, and his princes, and the residue of Yerushalayim, who remain in this land, and those who dwell in the land of Egypt,


Tzidkiyahu the king said to Yirmeyahu, I am afraid of the Jews who are fallen away to the Kasdim, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.


The word which came to Yirmeyahu from the LORD, after that Nevuzar'adan 1 the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all the captives of Yerushalayim and Yehudah, who were carried away captive to Bavel.


Now when all the captains of the forces who were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Bavel had made Gedalyahu the son of Achikam governor in the land, and had committed to him men, and women, and children, and of the poorest of the land, of those who were not carried away captive to Bavel;


Nevuzar'adan 1 the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Bavel to Rivlah.


The king of Bavel struck them, and put them to death at Rivlah in the land of Chamat. So Yehudah was carried away captive out of his land.


Then Daniyel returned answer with counsel and prudence to Aryokh the captain of the king's guard, who was gone forth to kill the wise men of Bavel;


I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you: and your land will be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.


The LORD will scatter you among the peoples, and you shall be left few in number among the nations, where the LORD shall lead you away.
