As the LORD your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom, where my lord has not sent to seek you: and when they said, He is not here, he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they didn't find you.


He did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done.


In vain have I struck your children; they received no correction: your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.


Then said the princes to Barukh, Go, hide you, you and Yirmeyahu; and let no man know where you are.


Kiryat-Ba`al (the same is Kiryat-Ye`arim), and Rabbah; two cities with their villages.


The border extended [there], and turned about on the west quarter southward, from the mountain that lies before Beit-Choron southward; and the goings out of it were at Kiryat-Ba`al (the same is Kiryat-Ye`arim), a city of the children of Yehudah: this was the west quarter.


The children of Yisra'el traveled, and came to their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Giv`on, and Kefirah, and Be'erot, and Kiryat-Ye`arim.


They sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kiryat-Ye`arim, saying, The Pelishtim have brought back the ark of the LORD; come you down, and bring it up to you.


It happened, from the day that the ark abode in Kiryat-Ye`arim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Yisra'el lamented after the LORD.
