These are the names of the sons of Yishma'el, by their names, according to the order of their birth: the firstborn of Yishma'el, Nevayot, then Kedar, Adbe'el, Mivsam,


and they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshiped them, and served them: therefore has the LORD brought all this evil on them.


The sons of Yavan: Elishah, and Tarshisha, Kittim, and Rodanim.


Now David was old and full of days; and he made Shlomo his son king over Yisra'el.


The sons of Kehat: `Amram, Yitzhar, Chevron, and `Uzzi'el, four.


Woe is me, that I live in Meshekh, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!


For the Lord said to me, *Within a year, as a worker bound by contract would count it, all the glory of Kedar will fail,


The burden of Tzor. Howl, you ships of Tarshish! For it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in. From the land of Kittim it is revealed to them.


He said, *You shall rejoice no more, you oppressed virgin daughter of Tzidon. Arise, pass over to Kittim. Even there you will have no rest.*


Of Kedar, and of the kingdoms of Chatzor, which Nevukhadnetzar 1 king of Bavel struck. Thus says the LORD: Arise you, go up to Kedar, and destroy the children of the east.


You took of your garments, and made for yourselves high places decked with various colors, and played the prostitute on them: [the like things] shall not come, neither shall it be [so].


Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they were the merchants of your hand; in lambs, and rams, and goats, in these were they your merchants.


Of the oaks of Bashan have they made your oars; they have made your benches of ivory inlaid in boxwood, from the islands of Kittim.


Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you are turbulent more than the nations that are round about you, and have not walked in my statutes, neither have kept my ordinances, neither have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you;


After this shall he turn his face to the islands, and shall take many: but a prince shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; yes, moreover, he shall cause his reproach to turn on him.


For ships of Kittim shall come against him; therefore he shall be grieved, and shall return, and have indignation against the holy covenant, and shall do [his pleasure]: he shall even return, and have regard to those who forsake the holy covenant.


But ships [shall come] from the coast of Kittim. They shall afflict Ashur, and shall afflict `Ever. He also shall come to destruction.


It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles, that one has his father's wife.


It was so, that all who saw it said, There was no such deed done nor seen from the day that the children of Yisra'el came up out of the land of Egypt to this day: consider it, take counsel, and speak.
