Isaiah 61:1

to hear the groans of the prisoner; to free those who are condemned to death;


He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.


For the LORD takes pleasure in his people. He crowns the humble with yeshu`ah.


*Yet I have set my king on my holy hill of Tziyon.*


The humble shall eat and be satisfied. They shall praise the LORD who seek after him. Let your hearts live forever.


He will guide the humble in justice. He will teach the humble his way.


The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.


You have loved righteousness, and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.


The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.


God, when you went forth before your people, when you marched through the wilderness... Selah.


The humble have seen it, and are glad. You who seek after God, let your heart live.


You shall put them on Aharon your brother, and on his sons with him, and shall anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister to me in the Kohen's office.


Then you shall take the anointing oil, and pour it on his head, and anoint him.


The humble also will increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men will rejoice in the Holy One of Yisra'el.


For the people will dwell in Tziyon at Yerushalayim. You will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When he hears you, he will answer you.


Moreover the light of the moon will be like the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be seven times brighter, like the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD binds up the fracture of his people, and heals the wound they were struck with.


The ways of the scoundrel are evil. He devises wicked devices to destroy the humble with lying words, even when the needy speaks right.


You who tell good news to Tziyon, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Yerushalayim, lift up your voice with strength. Lift it up. Don't be afraid. Say to the cities of Yehudah, *Behold, your God!*


*Behold, my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen, in whom my soul delights-- I have put my Spirit on him. He will bring justice to the nations.


to open the blind eyes, to bring the prisoners out of the dungeon, and those who sit in darkness out of the prison.


Come you near to me, hear you this; from the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD has sent me, and his Spirit.


saying to those who are bound, Go forth; to those who are in darkness, Show yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and on all bare heights shall be their pasture.


How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes shalom, who brings good news of good, who publishes salvation, who says to Tziyon, Your God reigns!


Break forth into joy, sing together, you waste places of Yerushalayim; for the LORD has comforted his people, he has redeemed Yerushalayim.


For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.


I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.


As for me, this is my covenant with them, says the LORD: my Spirit who is on you, and my words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your seed, nor out of the mouth of your seed's seed, says the LORD, from henceforth and forever.


For all these things has my hand made, and [so] all these things came to be, says the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word.

For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God gives the Spirit without measure.


even Yeshua of Natzeret, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.


to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Hasatan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'


*For truly, in this city against your holy servant, Yeshua, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Yisra'el, were gathered together


Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.


Nevertheless, he who comforts the lowly, God, comforted us by the coming of Titus;


You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.*
