The sun rose on him as he passed over Peni'el, and he limped because of his thigh.


Who is this King of glory? The LORD of Armies is the King of glory! Selah.


They saw the God of Yisra'el. Under his feet was like a paved work of sappir stone, like the skies for clearness.


Moreover he said, *I am the God of your father, the God of Avraham, the God of Yitzchak, and the God of Ya`akov.* Moshe hid his face; for he was afraid to look at God.


He said, *You cannot see my face, for man may not see me and live.*


Moshe said to the LORD, *Oh, Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.*


Moshe spoke before the LORD, saying, *Behold, the children of Yisra'el haven't listened to me. How then shall Par`oh listen to me, who am of uncircumcised lips?*


Moshe said before the LORD, *Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Par`oh listen to me?*


From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs. Glory to the righteous! But I said, *I pine away! I pine away! woe is me!* The treacherous have dealt treacherously. Yes, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously.


The Lord said, *Because this people draws near with their mouth and with their lips to honor me, but they have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a mitzvah of men which has been taught;


Your eyes will see the king in his beauty. They will see a distant land.


For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue mutters wickedness.


For we have all become as one who is unclean, and all our righteousness is as a polluted garment: and we all fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.


Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I don't know how to speak; for I am a child.


I will make drunk her princes and her wise men, her governors and her deputies, and her mighty men; and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake up, says the King, whose name is the LORD of Armies.


Son of man, you dwell in the midst of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see, and don't see, who have ears to hear, and don't hear; for they are a rebellious house.


They come to you as the people comes, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but don't do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.


While I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Yisra'el, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;


I heard, and my body trembled. My lips quivered at the voice. Rottenness enters into my bones, and I tremble in my place, because I must wait quietly for the day of trouble, for the coming up of the people who invade us.


The children of Yisra'el spoke to Moshe, saying, Behold, we perish, we are undone, we are all undone.


Manoach said to his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.


Gid`on saw that he was the angel of the LORD; and Gid`on said, Alas, Lord GOD! because I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face.
