I will give over the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord. A fierce king will rule over them,* says the Lord, the LORD of Armies.


He heard news concerning Tirhakah king of Kush, *He has come out to fight against you.* When he heard it, he sent messengers to Chizkiyahu, saying,


For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Yisra'el, your Savior. I have given Egypt as your ransom, Kush and Seva in your place.


Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and for wonders in Yisra'el from the LORD of Armies, who dwells in Mount Tziyon.


Thus says the LORD to me, Go, and buy you a linen belt, and put it on your waist, and don't put it in water.


In their sight shall you bear it on your shoulder, and carry it forth in the dark; you shall cover your face, that you don't see the land: for I have set you for a sign to the house of Yisra'el.


A sword shall come on Egypt, and anguish shall be in Kush, when the slain shall fall in Egypt; and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be broken down.


Thus says the LORD: They also who uphold Egypt shall fall; and the pride of her power shall come down: from Migdol to Seven shall they fall in it by the sword, says the Lord GOD.


You also, son of man, take a tile, and lay it before you, and portray on it a city, even Yerushalayim:


Take for yourself an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between you and the city: and set your face toward it, and it shall be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Yisra'el.


You Kushi also, you will be killed by my sword.


Hear now, Yehoshua the Kohen Gadol, you and your fellows who sit before you; for they are men who are a sign: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant, the Branch.


After the number of the days in which you spied out the land, even forty days, for every day a year, shall you bear your iniquities, even forty years, and you shall know my alienation.
