Let Yisra'el rejoice in him who made them. Let the children of Tziyon be joyful in their King.


He has stretched out his hand over the sea. He has shaken the kingdoms. The LORD has ordered the destruction of Kena`an's strongholds.


He will lift up a banner to the nations from far, and he will whistle for them from the end of the earth. Behold, they will come speedily and swiftly.


behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, says the LORD, and [I will send] to Nevukhadnetzar 1 the king of Bavel, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants of it, and against all these nations round about; and I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.


Don't let your heart faint, neither fear for the news that shall be heard in the land; for news shall come one year, and after that in another year [shall come] news, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.


Though Bavel should mount up to the sky, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall destroyers come to her, says the LORD.


Hurry and come, all you surrounding nations, and gather yourselves together.* Cause your mighty ones to come down there, LORD.


Be silent at the presence of the Lord GOD, for the day of the LORD is at hand. For the LORD has prepared a sacrifice. He has consecrated his guests.


*Rejoice over her, O heaven, you holy ones, emissaries, and prophets; for God has judged your judgment on her.*
