When Avram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Avram, and said to him, *I am El Shaddai. Walk before me, and be blameless.


God give you of the dew of the sky, of the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and new wine.


Behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, *I am the LORD, the God of Avraham your father, and the God of Yitzchak. The land whereon you lie, to you will I give it, and to your seed.


so that I come again to my father's house in shalom, and the LORD will be my God,


May El Shaddai bless you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, that you may be a company of peoples,


Ya`akov said, *God of my father Avraham, and God of my father Yitzchak, the LORD, who said to me, 'Return to your country, and to your relatives, and I will do you good,'


God said to him, *I am El Shaddai. Be fruitful and multiply. A nation and a company of nations will be from you, and kings will come out of your body.


Let us arise, and go up to Beit-El. I will make there an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.*


He said, *Shalom be to you. Don't be afraid. Your God, and the God of your father, has given you treasure in your sacks. I received your money.* He brought Shim`on out to them.


Ya`akov said to Yosef, *El Shaddai appeared to me at Luz in the land of Kena`an, and blessed me,


For the LORD God is a sun and a shield. The LORD will give grace and glory. He withholds no good thing from those who walk blamelessly.


Yes, the LORD will give that which is good. Our land will yield its increase.


The name of the other was Eli`ezer, for he said, *My father's God was my help and delivered me from Par`oh's sword.*
