Avram passed through the land to the place of Shekhem, to the oak of Moreh. The Kena`ani was then in the land.


Yitzchak was forty years old when he took Rivka, the daughter of Betu'el the Syrian of Paddan-Aram 1, the sister of Lavan the Syrian, to be his wife.


Arise, go to Paddan-Aram 1, to the house of Betu'el your mother's father. Take a wife from there from the daughters of Lavan, your mother's brother.


Lavan caught up with Ya`akov. Now Ya`akov had pitched his tent in the mountain, and Lavan with his relatives encamped in the mountain of Gil`ad.


God appeared to Ya`akov again, when he came from Paddan-Aram 1, and blessed him.


Yisra'el said to Yosef, *Aren't your brothers feeding the flock in Shekhem? Come, and I will send you to them.* He said to him, *Here I am.*


These are the sons of Le'ah, whom she bore to Ya`akov in Paddan-Aram 1, with his daughter Dinah. All the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty-three.
