The LORD appeared to Avram and said, *I will give this land to your seed.* He built an altar there to the LORD, who appeared to him.


for all the land which you see, I will give to you, and to your offspring forever.


Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it to you.*


*I am a stranger and a foreigner living with you. Give me a possession of a burying-place with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.*


The LORD appeared to him the same night, and said, *I am the God of Avraham your father. Don't be afraid, for I am with you, and will bless you, and multiply your seed for my servant Avraham's sake.*


and give you the blessing of Avraham, to you, and to your seed with you, that you may inherit the land where you travel, which God gave to Avraham.*


Ya`akov came to Yitzchak his father, to Mamre, to Kiryat-Arba (which is Chevron), where Avraham and Yitzchak lived as foreigners.


For their substance was too great for them to dwell together, and the land of their travels couldn't bear them because of their livestock.


Ya`akov lived in the land of his father's travels, in the land of Kena`an.


and said to me, 'Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a company of peoples, and will give this land to your seed after you for an everlasting possession.'


Most certainly my house is not so with God, yet he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure, for it is all my salvation, and all [my] desire, although he doesn't make it grow.


saying, I will you give the land of Kena`an, The lot of your inheritance,


But the LORD's loving kindness is from everlasting to everlasting with those who fear him, his righteousness to children's children;


saying, *To you I will give the land of Kena`an, the lot of your inheritance;*


the covenant which he made with Avraham, his oath to Yitzchak,


*It shall be, when the LORD shall bring you into the land of the Kena`ani, as he swore to you and to your fathers, and shall give it you,


then his master shall bring him to God, and shall bring him to the door or to the doorpost, and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall serve him for ever.


I will dwell among the children of Yisra'el, and will be their God.


Remember Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yisra'el, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them, 'I will multiply your seed as the stars of the sky, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.'*


You shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may minister to me in the Kohen's office. Their anointing shall be to them for an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.*


I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Kena`an, the land of their travels, in which they lived as aliens.


and I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.


saying, Return you now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and to your fathers, from of old and even forevermore;


At that time, says the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Yisra'el, and they shall be my people.


that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.


Son of man, they who inhabit those waste places in Eretz-Yisra'el speak, saying, Avraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.


*When you have come into the land of Kena`an, which I give to you for a possession, and I put a spreading mildew in a house in the land of your possession,


*This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Yisra'el once in the year because of all their sins.* It was done as the LORD commanded Moshe.


I will walk among you, and will be your God, and you will be my people.


and I will bring them, and they will dwell in the midst of Yerushalayim; and they will be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.*


Moshe said to Chovav, the son of Re`u'el the Midyanite, Moshe' father-in-law, We are journeying to the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you: come you with us, and we will do you good; for the LORD has spoken good concerning Yisra'el.


and it shall be to him, and to his seed after him, the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was jealous for his God, and made atonement for the children of Yisra'el.


The LORD said to Moshe, Go up into this mountain of `Avarimen, and see the land which I have given to the children of Yisra'el.


He gave him no inheritance in it, no, not so much as to set his foot on. He promised that he would give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, when he still had no child.


For you are a holy people to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth.


and the LORD has declared you this day to be a people for his own possession, as he has promised you, and that you should keep all his mitzvot;


that he may establish you this day to himself for a people, and that he may be to you a God, as he spoke to you, and as he swore to your fathers, to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Ya`akov.


Go up into this mountain of `Avarimen, to Mount Nevo 1, which is in the land of Mo'av, that is over against Yericho; and see the land of Kena`an, which I give to the children of Yisra'el for a possession;


When the Elyon gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the children of men, he set the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the children of Yisra'el.


The LORD said to him, This is the land which I swore to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Ya`akov, saying, I will give it to your seed: I have caused you to see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.


Because he loved your fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought you out with his presence, with his great power, out of Egypt;


Not for your righteousness, or for the uprightness of your heart, do you go in to possess their land; but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD your God does drive them out from before you, and that he may establish the word which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Ya`akov.


For this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, since a death has occurred for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, that those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.


Moshe my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Yarden, you, and all this people, to the land which I give to them, even to the children of Yisra'el.


He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son.
