When Avram heard that his relative was taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued as far as Dan.


God said to Avraham, *As for you, you will keep my covenant, you and your seed after you throughout their generations.


For I have known him, to the end that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that the LORD may bring on Avraham that which he has spoken of him.*


All who went out of the gate of his city listened to Chamor, and to Shekhem his son; and every male was circumcised, all who went out of the gate of his city.


I will hurry, and not delay, to obey your mitzvot.
