Moshe and Aharon went in to Par`oh, and said to him, *This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, that they may serve me.


and it happened, when Par`oh would hardly let us go, that the LORD killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of animal. Therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that opens the womb, being males; but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.'


It was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled; and the heart of Par`oh and of his servants was changed towards the people, and they said, *What is this we have done, that we have let Yisra'el go from serving us?*


He said, *Certainly I will be with you. This will be the token to you, that I have sent you: when you have brought forth the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.*


Moshe said to God, *Behold, when I come to the children of Yisra'el, and tell them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you;' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' What should I tell them?*


They will listen to your voice, and you shall come, you and the elders of Yisra'el, to the king of Egypt, and you shall tell him, 'The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us go three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD, our God.'


You shall tell Par`oh, 'Thus says the LORD, Yisra'el is my son, my firstborn,


and I have said to you, *Let my son go, that he may serve me;* and you have refused to let him go. Behold, I will kill your son, your firstborn.'*


But Par`oh will not listen to you, and I will lay my hand on Egypt, and bring forth my armies, my people the children of Yisra'el, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.


The LORD spoke to Moshe, Go in to Par`oh, and tell him, *This is what the LORD says, 'Let my people go, that they may serve me.


The LORD said to Moshe, *Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Par`oh; behold, he comes forth to the water; and tell him, 'This is what the LORD says, *Let my people go, that they may serve me.


Then the LORD said to Moshe, *Go in to Par`oh, and tell him, 'This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: *Let my people go, that they may serve me.


The LORD said to Moshe, *Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Par`oh, and tell him, 'This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: *Let my people go, that they may serve me.


I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will make straight all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let my exiles go free, not for price nor reward, says the LORD of Armies.


Thus says the LORD of Armies: The children of Yisra'el and the children of Yehudah are oppressed together; and all who took them captive hold them fast; they refuse to let them go.
