As for me, is my complaint to man? Why shouldn't I be impatient?


and they made their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field, all their service, in which they ruthlessly made them serve.


Isn't this the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, 'Leave us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians?' For it were better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.*


It happened in the course of those many days, that the king of Egypt died, and the children of Yisra'el sighed because of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.


and they said to them, *May the LORD look at you, and judge, because you have made us a stench to be abhorred in the eyes of Par`oh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us.*


The LORD spoke to Moshe, saying,


The evil bow down before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.


A man's spirit will sustain him in sickness, but a crushed spirit, who can bear?


They traveled from Mount Hor by the way to the Sea of Suf, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way.
