Yehu said, Sanctify a solemn assembly for Ba`al. They proclaimed it.


Uriyahu the Kohen built an altar: according to all that king Achaz had sent from Damascus, so did Uriyahu the Kohen make it against the coming of king Achaz from Damascus.


So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Yisra'el, from Be'er-Sheva even to Dan, that they should come to keep the Pesach to the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, at Yerushalayim: for they had not kept it in great numbers in such sort as it is written.


Moshe said, *We will go with our young and with our old; with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast to the LORD.*


This day shall be to you for a memorial, and you shall keep it a feast to the LORD: throughout your generations you shall keep it a feast by an ordinance forever.


Moshe built an altar, and called the name of it the LORD our Banner.


He received what they handed him, and fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made it a molten calf; and they said, *These are your gods, Yisra'el, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.*


They rose up early on the next day, and offered burnt offerings, and brought shalom offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.


Because Efrayim has multiplied altars for sinning, they became for him altars for sinning.


For Yisra'el has forgotten his Maker and built palaces; and Yehudah has multiplied fortified cities; but I will send a fire on his cities, and it will devour its fortresses.*


*Speak to the children of Yisra'el, and tell them, 'The set feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my set feasts.


You shall make proclamation on the same day: there shall be a holy convocation to you; you shall do no regular work. This is a statute forever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.


*'These are the appointed feasts of the LORD, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meal offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, each on its own day;


*'These are the set feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which you shall proclaim in their appointed season.


Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old yeast, neither with the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with the matzah of sincerity and truth.


Sha'ul built an altar to the LORD: the same was the first altar that he built to the LORD.
