The man said, *I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.*


All the people perceived the thunderings, the lightnings, the sound of the shofar, and the mountain smoking. When the people saw it, they trembled, and stayed at a distance.


They said to Moshe, *Speak with us yourself, and we will listen; but don't let God speak with us, lest we die.*


For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse. For it is written, *Cursed is everyone who doesn't continue in all things that are written in the scroll of the Torah, to do them.*


according to all that you desired of the LORD your God in Chorev in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die.


The LORD said to me, They have well said that which they have spoken.


He said, The LORD came from Sinai, And rose from Se`ir to them. He shone forth from Mount Paran. He came from the ten thousands of holy ones. At his right hand was a fiery law for them.


and you said, Behold, the LORD our God has shown us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God does speak with man, and he lives.


the sound of a shofar, and the voice of words; which those who heard it begged that not one more word should be spoken to them,


for our God is a consuming fire.
