The children of the captivity did so. Ezra the Kohen, [with] certain heads of fathers' [houses], after their fathers' houses, and all of them by their names, were set apart; and they sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.


They made proclamation throughout Yehudah and Yerushalayim to all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together to Yerushalayim;


Now when the adversaries of Yehudah and Binyamin heard that the children of the captivity were building a temple to the LORD, the God of Yisra'el;


The children of Yisra'el, the Kohanim, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy.


In the third year of the reign of Yehoiakim king of Yehudah came Nevukhadnetzar 1 king of Bavel to Yerushalayim, and besieged it.


The Lord gave Yehoiakim king of Yehudah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God; and he carried them into the land of Shin`ar to the house of his god: and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.


Daniyel continued even to the first year of king Koresh.


Now among these were, of the children of Yehudah, Daniyel, Chananyah, Misha'el, and `Azaryah.


Then Aryokh brought in Daniyel before the king in haste, and said thus to him, I have found a man of the children of the captivity of Yehudah, who will make known to the king the interpretation.


Then the king made Daniyel great, and gave him many great gifts, and made him to rule over the whole province of Bavel, and to be chief governor over all the wise men of Bavel.


There is a man in your kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and the king Nevukhadnetzar 1 your father, the king, [I say], your father, made him master of the magicians, enchanters, Kasdim, and soothsayers;


I have heard of you, that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.


You king, the El `Elyon gave Nevukhadnetzar 1 your father the kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and majesty:


Belshatzar, while he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which Nevukhadnetzar 1 his father had taken out of the temple which was in Yerushalayim; that the king and his lords, his wives and his concubines, might drink from them.


Then answered they and said before the king, That Daniyel, who is of the children of the captivity of Yehudah, doesn't regard you, O king, nor the interdict that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.


In the third year of the reign of king Belshatzar a vision appeared to me, even to me, Daniyel, after that which appeared to me at the first.


I, Daniyel, fainted, and was sick certain days; then I rose up, and did the king's business: and I wondered at the vision, but none understood it.


After these things, Yeshua was walking in the Galil, for he wouldn't walk in Yehudah, because the Judeans sought to kill him.


His brothers therefore said to him, *Depart from here, and go into Yehudah, that your talmidim also may see your works which you do.
