Malki-Tzedek king of Shalem brought out bread and wine: and he was Kohen of El `Elyon.


When he is about to fill his belly, God will cast the fierceness of his wrath on him. It will rain on him while he is eating.


Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. Your dominion endures throughout all generations.


A man's pride brings him low, but one of lowly spirit gains honor.


For the LORD of Armies has planned, and who can stop it? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?*


I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by him who lives forever that it shall be for a time, times, and a half; and when they have made an end of breaking in pieces the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.


this is the interpretation, O king, and it is the decree of the Elyon, which is come on my lord the king:


Whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the roots of the tree; your kingdom shall be sure to you, after that you shall have known that the heavens do rule.


The king spoke and said, Is not this great Bavel, which I have built for the royal dwelling place, by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?


and you shall be driven from men; and they dwelling shall be with the animals of the field; you shall be made to eat grass as oxen; and seven times shall pass over you; until you know that the Elyon rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whoever he will.


At the end of the days I, Nevukhadnetzar 1, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me, and I blessed the Elyon, and I praised and honored him who lives forever; for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom from generation to generation.


But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:


PERES; your kingdom is divided, and given to the Madai and Paras.


He delivers and rescues, and he works signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who has delivered Daniyel from the power of the lions.


Behold, a voice out of the heavens said, *This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.*


*But God said to him, 'You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared--whose will they be?'


Father, glorify your name!* Then there came a voice out of the sky, saying, *I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.*


For when they are saying, *Peace and safety,* then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape.


I heard the altar saying, *Yes, Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments.*


But now your kingdom shall not continue: the LORD has sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD has appointed him to be prince over his people, because you have not kept that which the LORD commanded you.


For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as idolatry and terafim. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has also rejected you from being king.
