Yarov`am ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like the feast that is in Yehudah, and he went up to the altar; so did he in Beit-El, sacrificing to the calves that he had made: and he placed in Beit-El the Kohanim of the high places that he had made.


He will give Yisra'el up because of the sins of Yarov`am, which he has sinned, and with which he has made Yisra'el to sin.


He bought the hill Shomron of Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill, Shomron.


However from the sins of Yarov`am the son of Nevat, with which he made Yisra'el to sin, Yehu didn't depart from after them, [to wit], the golden calves that were in Beit-El, and that were in Dan.


but they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and scoffed at his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, until there was no remedy.


Let burning coals fall on them. Let them be thrown into the fire, into miry pits, from where they never rise.


There the workers of iniquity are fallen. They are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.


for a righteous man falls seven times, and rises up again; but the wicked are overthrown by calamity.


He who is often rebuked and stiffens his neck will be destroyed suddenly, with no remedy.


The earth will stagger like a drunken man, and will sway back and forth like a hammock. Its disobedience will be heavy on it, and it will fall and not rise again.


who brings forth the chariot and horse, the army and the mighty man (they lie down together, they shall not rise; they are extinct, they are quenched like a wick):


You shall tell them, Thus says the LORD of Armies, the God of Yisra'el: Drink you, and be drunken, and spew, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.


and you shall say, Thus shall Bavel sink, and shall not rise again because of the evil that I will bring on her; and they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Yirmeyahu.


The inhabitants of Shomron will be in terror for the calves of Beit-Aven; for its people will mourn over it, Along with its Kohanim who rejoiced over it, for its glory, because it has departed from it.


Shomron will bear her guilt; for she has rebelled against her God. They will fall by the sword. Their infants will be dashed in pieces, and their pregnant women will be ripped open.*


Now they sin more and more, and have made themselves molten images of their silver, even idols according to their own understanding, all of them the work of the craftsmen. They say of them, 'They offer human sacrifice and kiss the calves.'


*Though you, Yisra'el, play the prostitute, yet don't let Yehudah offend; and don't come to Gilgal, neither go up to Beit-Aven, nor swear, 'As the LORD lives.'


Listen to this word which I take up for a lamentation over you, O house of Yisra'el.


*The virgin of Yisra'el has fallen; She shall rise no more. She is cast down on her land; there is no one to raise her up.*


but don't seek Beit-El, nor enter into Gilgal, and don't pass to Be'er-Sheva: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Beit-El shall come to nothing.


*All this is for the disobedience of Ya`akov, and for the sins of the house of Yisra'el. What is the disobedience of Ya`akov? Isn't it Shomron? And what are the high places of Yehudah? Aren't they Yerushalayim?


those who worship the army of the sky on the housetops, those who worship and swear by the LORD and also swear by Malkam,


This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Yeshua, although he knew only the immersion of Yochanan.


About that time there arose no small stir concerning the Way.


But when some were hardened and disobedient, speaking evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the talmidim, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus.


But this I confess to you, that after the Way, which they call a sect, so I serve the God of our fathers, believing all things which are according to the Torah, and which are written in the prophets;


and asked for letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Yerushalayim.


LORD, bless his substance. Accept the work of his hands. Strike through the hips of those who rise up against him, of those who hate him, that they not rise again.


I took your sin, the calf which you had made, and burnt it with fire, and stamped it, grinding it very small, until it was as fine as dust: and I cast the dust of it into the brook that descended out of the mountain.
