The Kohanim consented that they should take no [more] money from the people, neither repair the breaches of the house.


Go up to Chilkiyah the Kohen Gadol, that he may sum the money which is brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of the threshold have gathered of the people:


The king commanded Chilkiyah the Kohen Gadol, and the Kohanim of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Ba`al, and for the Asherah, and for all the army of the sky, and he burned them outside of Yerushalayim in the fields of the Kidron, and carried the ashes of them to Beit-El.


The captain of the guard took Serayah the chief Kohen, and Tzefanyah the second Kohen, and the three keepers of the threshold:


and with them their brothers of the second degree, Zekharyah, Ben, and Jaaziel, and Shemiramot, and Yechi'el, and Unni, Eli'av, and Benayah, and Ma`aseyah, and Mattityah, and Eliflehu, and Mikneyahu, and Obed-Edom, and Ye`i'el, the doorkeepers.


Shevanyah, and Yoshafat, and Netan'el 1, and `Amasai, and Zekharyah, and Benayah, and Eli`ezer, the Kohanim, did blow the trumpets before the ark of God: and Obed-Edom and Yechiyah were doorkeepers for the ark.


For a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.


and I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Chanan the son of Yigdalyahu, the man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Ma`aseyah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the threshold.

Yeshua sat down opposite the treasury, and saw how the multitude cast money into the treasury. Many who were rich cast in much.


He looked up, and saw the rich people who were putting their gifts into the treasury.
