In the seventh year Yehoiada sent and fetched the captains over hundreds of the Kari and of the guard, and brought them to him into the house of the LORD; and he made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of the LORD, and shown them the king's son.


Yeho'ash did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD all his days in which Yehoiada the Kohen instructed him.


But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Yeho'ash the Kohanim had not repaired the breaches of the house.


The Kohanim consented that they should take no [more] money from the people, neither repair the breaches of the house.


Yo'av said, the LORD make his people a hundred times as many as they are: but, my lord the king, aren't they all my lord's servants? Why does my lord require this thing? Why will he be a cause of guilt to Yisra'el?


In the seventh year Yehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, `Azaryah the son of Yerocham, and Yishma'el the son of Yehochanan, and `Azaryah the son of `Oved 1, and Ma`aseyah the son of `Adayah, and Elishaphat the son of Zikhri, into covenant with him.


They buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Yisra'el, and toward God and his house.


*This is what the LORD of Armies says: These people say, 'The time hasn't yet come, the time for the LORD's house to be built.'*
