and Sha'ul cast the spear; for he said, I will strike David even to the wall. David avoided out of his presence twice.


Sha'ul sent the messengers to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may kill him.


Nevertheless Sha'ul didn't say anything that day: for he thought, Something has happened to him. He is not clean. Surely he is not clean.


Yonatan answered Sha'ul, David earnestly asked leave of me to go to Beit-Lechem:


David said to Yonatan, *Behold, tomorrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to dine with the king; but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field to the third day at evening.


Naval answered David's servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Yishai? there are many servants who break away from their masters these days.
