Shlomo made affinity with Par`oh king of Egypt, and took Par`oh's daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the LORD, and the wall of Yerushalayim round about.


In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Ziv.


Shlomo was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.


For he built the house of the forest of Levanon; the length of it was one hundred cubits, and the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits, on four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams on the pillars.


Thus all the work that king Shlomo worked in the house of the LORD was finished. Shlomo brought in the things which David his father had dedicated, [even] the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, and put them in the treasuries of the house of the LORD.


On the eighth day he sent the people away; and they blessed the king, and went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had shown to David his servant, and to Yisra'el his people.


It happened at the end of twenty years, in which Shlomo had built the two houses, the house of the LORD and the king's house


(now Chiram the king of Tzor had furnished Shlomo with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire), that then king Shlomo gave Chiram twenty cities in the land of the Galil.


and all the storage cities that Shlomo had, and the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and that which Shlomo desired to build for his pleasure in Yerushalayim, and in Levanon, and in all the land of his dominion.


Now when Shlomo had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.


Thus Shlomo finished the house of the LORD, and the king's house: and all that came into Shlomo's heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.


It happened at the end of twenty years, in which Shlomo had built the house of the LORD, and his own house,


and Ba`alat, and all the storage cities that Shlomo had, and all the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and all that Shlomo desired to build for his pleasure in Yerushalayim, and in Levanon, and in all the land of his dominion.


Whatever my eyes desired, I didn't keep from them. I didn't withhold my heart from any joy, for my heart rejoiced because of all my labor, and this was my portion from all my labor.


I made myself great works. I built myself houses. I planted myself vineyards.


Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.
