Luke 11:1 - Good News Translation

1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”

Jesus said to them, “When you pray, say this: ‘Father: May your holy name be honored; may your Kingdom come.


At that time Jesus went up a hill to pray and spent the whole night there praying to God.


When the Lord saw her, his heart was filled with pity for her, and he said to her, “Don't cry.”


and sent them to the Lord to ask him, “Are you the one John said was going to come, or should we expect someone else?”


One day when Jesus was praying alone, the disciples came to him. “Who do the crowds say I am?” he asked them.


About a week after he had said these things, Jesus took Peter, John, and James with him and went up a hill to pray.


In his life on earth Jesus made his prayers and requests with loud cries and tears to God, who could save him from death. Because he was humble and devoted, God heard him.


But you, my friends, keep on building yourselves up on your most sacred faith. Pray in the power of the Holy Spirit,
