The Lord takes pleasure in his people; he honors the humble with victory.


Suddenly the Lord said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, “I want the three of you to come out to the Tent of my presence.” They went,


Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest.


“Tell the city of Zion, Look, your king is coming to you! He is humble and rides on a donkey and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”


“Happy are those who are humble; they will receive what God has promised!


I, Paul, make a personal appeal to you—I who am said to be meek and mild when I am with you, but harsh with you when I am away. By the gentleness and kindness of Christ


I do not think that I am the least bit inferior to those very special so-called “apostles” of yours!


I am acting like a fool—but you have made me do it. You are the ones who ought to show your approval of me. For even if I am nothing, I am in no way inferior to those very special “apostles” of yours.


even though as apostles of Christ we could have made demands on you. But we were gentle when we were with you, like a mother taking care of her children.


Are there any of you who are wise and understanding? You are to prove it by your good life, by your good deeds performed with humility and wisdom.


Instead, your beauty should consist of your true inner self, the ageless beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of the greatest value in God's sight.
