“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.


A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.


Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.


Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.


For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”


And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.


The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.


If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well.


By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.
