And now you have gone away because you longed greatly for your father’s house, but why did you steal my gods?”


And the spirit of the king longed to go out to Absalom, because he was comforted about Amnon, since he was dead.


And David said longingly, “Oh, that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem that is by the gate!”


And they rose early in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. And when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe his prophets, and you will succeed.”


So the churches were strengthened in the faith, and they increased in numbers daily.


Now after these events Paul resolved in the Spirit to pass through Macedonia and Achaia and go to Jerusalem, saying, “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”


And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying.


that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.


But now, since I no longer have any room for work in these regions, and since I have longed for many years to come to you,


I know that when I come to you I will come in the fullness of the blessing of Christ.


so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.


Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages


Because I was sure of this, I wanted to come to you first, so that you might have a second experience of grace.


And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us,


For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough.


while they long for you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you.


For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.


for he has been longing for you all and has been distressed because you heard that he was ill.


Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved.


so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.


and we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s coworker in the gospel of Christ, to establish and exhort you in your faith,


comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.


But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.


Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.


And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.


By Silvanus, a faithful brother as I regard him, I have written briefly to you, exhorting and declaring that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it.


Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have.
