and said, “Blessed be the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken his steadfast love and his faithfulness toward my master. As for me, the Lord has led me in the way to the house of my master’s kinsmen.”


And when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, she won favor in his sight, and he held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. Then Esther approached and touched the tip of the scepter.


And as they were drinking wine after the feast, the king said to Esther, “What is your wish? It shall be granted you. And what is your request? Even to the half of my kingdom, it shall be fulfilled.”


And on the second day, as they were drinking wine after the feast, the king again said to Esther, “What is your wish, Queen Esther? It shall be granted you. And what is your request? Even to the half of my kingdom, it shall be fulfilled.”


Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him.


Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.


When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.


He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.


Thus says the Lord: “In a time of favor I have answered you; in a day of salvation I have helped you; I will keep you and give you as a covenant to the people, to establish the land, to apportion the desolate heritages,


“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near;


Behold their sitting and their rising; I am the object of their taunts.


You will show faithfulness to Jacob and steadfast love to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.


to show the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant,


And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.


For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.


In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.


When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.


Ask your young men, and they will tell you. Therefore let my young men find favor in your eyes, for we come on a feast day. Please give whatever you have at hand to your servants and to your son David.’”
