So Elijah went to show himself to Ahab. Now the famine was severe in Samaria.


The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?


All who hate me whisper together about me; they imagine the worst for me.

Then they said, “Come, let us make plots against Jeremiah, for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not pay attention to any of his words.”

But Saul hurled his spear at him to strike him. So Jonathan knew that his father was determined to put David to death.


If he says, ‘Good!’ it will be well with your servant, but if he is angry, then know that harm is determined by him.
