It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice.


He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor.


He plots trouble while on his bed; he sets himself in a way that is not good; he does not reject evil.


Whoever is wicked covets the spoil of evildoers, but the root of the righteous bears fruit.


Whoever despises his neighbor is a sinner, but blessed is he who is generous to the poor.


who rejoice in doing evil and delight in the perverseness of evil,


Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.


It is better to live in a corner of the housetop than in a house shared with a quarrelsome wife.


Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you.


Now these things took place as examples for us, that we might not desire evil as they did.


For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.


For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.
