Yet to his son I will give one tribe, that David my servant may always have a lamp before me in Jerusalem, the city where I have chosen to put my name.


“How often is it that the lamp of the wicked is put out? That their calamity comes upon them? That God distributes pains in his anger?


when his lamp shone upon my head, and by his light I walked through darkness,


Light dawns in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.


Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.


By insolence comes nothing but strife, but with those who take advice is wisdom.


The ransom of a man’s life is his wealth, but a poor man hears no threat.


If one curses his father or his mother, his lamp will be put out in utter darkness.


for the evil man has no future; the lamp of the wicked will be put out.


But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.


When I blot you out, I will cover the heavens and make their stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give its light.
