When Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his donkey and went off home to his own city. He set his house in order and hanged himself, and he died and was buried in the tomb of his father.


His strong steps are shortened, and his own schemes throw him down.


but these men lie in wait for their own blood; they set an ambush for their own lives.


The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.


No one is established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous will never be moved.


Righteousness guards him whose way is blameless, but sin overthrows the wicked.


The wicked is overthrown through his evildoing, but the righteous finds refuge in his death.


The way of a sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a level highway.


A wicked man puts on a bold face, but the upright gives thought to his ways.


Whoever walks in integrity will be delivered, but he who is crooked in his ways will suddenly fall.


In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.


The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him, and he is held fast in the cords of his sin.
